Glow League 2021

The sun is setting earlier and earlier and there is at least one reason that that is a good thing. It’s getting dark enough to start up our Glow League aka Rundle After Dusk aka R.A.D!

Glow League Details

Glow League will run on Thursday, September 23rd, October 1st (Friday Night Lights event), then October 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th. Most of the rounds will be at Rundle, with the possible exception of the Friday Night Lights event that may be hosted at another course in Edmonton.

The Glow League is open to current EDGA members for a $50 registration fee and will feature an ace pot, tiered-scoring and payouts for the top 45% of players in each tier.

For more information on the league and to register, visit our Glow League information page.

Getting Ready for 2021 EDGA Leagues!

As we approach the start of the 2021 EDGA League season, it may be a good idea to go over the leagues and some of the ins-and-outs of how we are going to play this year. Haven’t signed up for a league yet? The first step in all of this is to become a member of EDGA and register for your league(s) of choice today!

2021 EDGA League Overview

2021 EDGA League Overview

Using UDisc at League

Although some of our leagues will have different structures, all of our Leagues will be using UDisc to keep track of scores each week. So first things first, players need to install the UDisc app on their phones. After that, we have put together a little step-by-step instruction on how to score your group’s league round in UDisc.

Join your League on UDisc

  • Open your UDisc app and click the “More” button on the bottom row
  • Scroll down and click on UDisc Leagues
  • Search “EDGA” to find a list of our leagues
  • Select the League you’d like to join from the list
  • Scroll down and click “Join League”

Create a League Scorecard

Each round will have one designated scorer. If you have been designated as that round’s scorer, you will need to create the scorecard using the following steps:

  • Select “Rounds” on the bottom row
  • Select the course your league will be playing at
  • On league nights, there will be an EVENT that you can click on rather than the layout (It is very important that you click this and not just a regular layout)

“Check-in” and add players on your card

  • Select “Check In”
  • Add all players who will be added to the card that day and click “Confirm Players” (all players will be notified to check-in on their phones)
  • Once all players have checked-in, click “Create Scorecard” and score the round for each player on your card

Once the round is over ensure that you finalize the scorecard in the app so that all players scores will be uploaded to the league.

Let’s Go!

If all of this is a lot of information, each league will have experienced players and EDGA members who administer the leagues on site, so feel free to ask questions!

Can’t wait to see everyone out on the courses! (social distanced of course)

2021 Bag Tags

We are always looking to find value for our members and more ways to enjoy our great sport!

With that in mind, Edmonton Disc Golf Association members have the option to purchase bag tags for $5 when they register and they will be able to join the EDGA Bag Tag Laddder.

Bag tag challenges are just another way for players to compete on the courses without having to spend a bunch of extra money.

There are many ways to play on the Bag Tag Ladder. On league nights, groups may agree to play for tags, you can challenge another player for their tag and arrange a time to play, or you can challenge another player at a tournament for an extra layer of competition during the round!

Rules and more information on bag tags can be found on the Bag Tag Ladder page.

EDGA Presents: #RespectHerGame

This year, the Edmonton Disc Golf Association is proud to establish our first ever Women’s League, starting April 14th, 2021.

EDGA president Tim Plamondon and avid disc golfer and #RespectHerGame advocate Jo Henderson, got together recently to play a casual round and discuss women in disc golf, EDGA’s new Women’s League and the #RespectHerGame movement.

Check the video below! (Also like and subscribe because that’s what we’re supposed to ask you to do!)

EDGA Leagues 2021!

The Edmonton Disc Golf Association is proud to announce that we will be hosting 4 separate leagues for our members during the 2021 disc golf season.

In many years, the Rundle Park League was the only league that was hosted by EDGA, but with an explosion in disc golf popularity and with new courses being added locally,  we have the ability to run 4 separate leagues that will start in April.

On Tuesday nights, players will be able to play in The Hills League. After a successful inaugural season, the league has expanded to provide options for players. There will be an amateur division where players will enter draws for plastic and other prizes, or players can try their hands at the pro division with cash payouts. Both divisions will cost $75 for EDGA members to register in.

Wednesday nights will be the night for EDGA’s two newest leagues: The Norwester League and our Women’s League. Norwester will run out at the 9-hole course on the west end of the city and will feature cash payouts for a $75 registration fee. The Women’s League is a league for our local female disc golfers with just as much competition baked in as the players want there to be! It will be hosted at various courses throughout the season, will cost $0 and players will play for draws and prizes.

Thursday nights will remain Rundle League night. Our longest running league, it will once again be a tiered, cash payout league and will cost EDGA members $100 to enter.

Thank you sponsors!

We would like to take the opportunity to thank our sponsors who have stepped up to ensure that the league experiences for our players are above and beyond!
