If EDGA is going to host an Ice Bowl, we’re going to do it in style and host it at the most inhospitable time of year. Ice Bowl 2014 is scheduled for Sunday, February 23 to be played at the Rundle Park Disc Golf Course with the first round to tee off at 11:00 AM.
What is the Ice Bowl?
The Ice Bowl is a collection of disc golf events that are held each year in January and February with an overall mission of raising funds to fight hunger. Related goals include having fun and connecting the disc golf community in a positive way to the community at large. Read more about it at the official website: http://icebowlhq.com/
Just the same as in previous years, the entry free for all divisions is $30.00 and a food bank donation. The first 30 to register & pay will get get a fancy commemorative Ice Bowl disc with this year’s logo stamped on it…
…as well as 2 rounds of extreme winter disc golf. The top 3 finishers in each division will get a fabulous prize.
There will be some additional Ice Bowl merchandise and prizes you can bid on (discs, mini’s, etc) and maybe even a raffle. For those of you famished at the end of the day we’ll have a delicious slow cooked chilli (and a veggie option) that you can enjoy for a nominal donation.
As per the Ice Bowl directive all net proceeds from entry fees will be going to the Edmonton Food Bank.
Registration for the Ice Bowl will take place at the Rundle Park Trail House at the top of the course starting at 9:00 AM on the day of the tournament and will close at 10:30 AM. There will be no online pre-registration for this tournament so to ensure that you get one of the commemorative discs it’s highly recommended that you arrive early as once they’re gone, they’re gone (unless you plan on winning your division).
